Jacarandas Are Blooming… It Must Be Exam Time!

October brings Pretoria’s beautiful jacaranda blooms and the start of exam season. To all our scholars, matriculants and students, we wish you focus, determination and success as you tackle your year-end exams. To our matriculants, this is a special milestone. May the purple blooms remind you that hard work blossoms into achievement. Good luck – the Irene Farm Villages community is rooting for you!

Long Park Tree Replacement

Residents may have noticed recent activity in Long Park (Phase 2) as the HOA removed 39 Fever Trees due to invasive roots. While these trees added to the park’s character, their removal was necessary to protect critical infrastructure. The next phase will focus on planting suitable replacement trees with non-invasive root systems. Although the park may look different for a while, the new trees will help restore its beauty while ensuring the long-term protection of the estate’s infrastructure.

Gardens of the Month

Stand 2412 – Silk Oak Drive: This vibrant garden is a celebration of colour, texture and creativity. It is a wonderful reminder that a beautiful garden is not measured by its cost, but by the joy, warmth and sense of welcome it brings each day.

Stand 2218, Queens Way: This garden is more clean cut and eye catching because of the garden ornaments like rabbits and the clean-cut lines on the hedge.

To Log a Ticket

One ticket. Better service. Log your complaints, compliments, incidents or queries on the Resident Ticket System for faster assistance.

A Friendly Reminder: Respect for Our Neighbours

One of the strengths of our estate is the respect and consideration residents show one another. Recently, the HOA has received complaints about children and teenagers knocking on doors and running away. While often intended as a prank, this behaviour can cause distress and security concerns for residents.

In terms of the Estate Rules, such behaviour is regarded as mischief and may result in a penalty of R5,000. We kindly ask parents and guardians to discuss this matter with their children and encourage respect for neighbours and the community.

What may seem like a joke to one person can be a significant disturbance to another. Let’s work together to keep our estate friendly, respectful and secure for all.

Speeding Violations: Owners are responsible for their Visitors

The 40 km/h speed limit is in place to keep everyone safe. Residents are reminded that they are responsible for ensuring that their visitors comply with the Estate Rules.

When a visitor receives a speeding infringement, access to the Estate may be suspended until the penalty has been settled. Unfortunately, visitors are not always informed of these restrictions, resulting in frustration at the gate and unnecessary conflict with staff. Please ensure that your visitor is informed before returning to the Estate. HOA staff cannot make exceptions, and access will only be restored once the outstanding penalty has been paid.

Remember: When you invite someone into the Estate, you also accept responsibility for ensuring that they comply with the Estate Rules.
